Bad Brewing Summer Block Party! Saturday May 31st 5-11 featuring ‘From Big Sur’

Bad Brewing will host their Summer Block party this Saturday, May 31^st, from 5-11. The street in front of the Bad Brewing in Mason, Michigan will be blocked off for the party and Lansing’s own ‘From Big Sur’ will take the stage at 5. If you follow MiCraftBeerCulture you know how much I love Bad Brewing. They make some outstanding beer and are great all around people!

Bad will feature 18 taps and 4 specialty firkins so don’t wait until the last minute to show up because you know those firkins will go fast! There’s so many brews that I love at Bad but I can’t wait to try the Grapefruit Kracken IPA (double dry-hopped with Citra) 7% and the Tangerine Rymarillo DRIPA (double dry-hopped with Cascade) 10%.

The event will also kick of the ‘symbiotic’ relationship between Bad Brewing and Mason’s newest eatery, the soon to be famous food truck, Good Bites. Good Bites is the creation of Jon Fraser and partner Nicole Austin. With a rotating menu and promise to always have barbeque and vegetarian options. Good Bites is committed to staying local and will feature bread from the Stone Circle Bakehouse in Holt and produce from Swallowtail farms in Mason. They also use Bad Brewing’s awesome Stout in their whole grain mustard which I can’t wait to try. Word on the street is there may be something in their smoker for the party.

The event has a measly $5 cover and outdoor bar will be cash only so make sure you bring some of that old fashioned paper money with you!

A portion of proceeds will be donated to local charity Small Talk Children’s Assessment Center of Ingham County. Isn’t it nice when you can justify a day of great beer, great food, great friends and great music by knowing you are helping a good cause?!

: Jon Whitney Pottery will be setting up a booth to sell his incredible ceramic growlers, howlers, steins and art.
